Molly's here Today On Daily Dog

Hey there, this is Molly here Today on Daily Dog, I know you're probably thinking who? You may also be thinking uh oh did they get ANOTHER one! Don't worry I'm just here on vacation. My Mom, Sally, is out of town for thanksgiving and thought where better for me to stay than with other English Springer spaniels. I just arrived here earlier today an already I'm feeling at home. Lexie was kinda annoying to begin with, she kept barking! Then she was put in time out in the kennel, after about half an hour she was let out and everything was fine, in fact Lexie and I even took a nap together, see!

Before my nap with Lexie I took a nap with Montie!

So I'm going to be here for a few days and I know I'm going to have so much fun! Over to you Brodie...Brodie...BRODIE!!!

Brodie wake up, you're on the blog...

Oh well looks like Brodie is fast asleep, Izzie how about you, do you have anything to say on the blog today?

Well I guess not, all that's left to be said is HAPPY THANKSGIVING from Me, Molly along with Lexie and Montie, oh and Brodie and Izzie too!

Weekend Getaway! Today On Daily Dog

Today On Daily Dog it's Montie here and I'm going to tell you all about our weekend trip to Napa with the Mommins'

Mommins Samantha woke up early this past Sunday, well actually Izzie woke her up, and she decided that we should all do something fun. Mommins Rachel had been wanting to go to The Culinary Institute in St. Helena to buy some fun cooking items and so it was decided. Mommins Samantha looked up a doggie place she had heard about called Alston Park in Napa. It is a huge grassy, hilly area where dogs are allowed to run off leash plus it had enclosed play areas too! OMG it sounded amazing!

So we all jumped into the car and headed off

This is Izzie in the car when she was just a baby puppy

By the time we arrived at Alston Park we were all hyped up and burst out of the car, this didn't make the Mommins' very happy, but we were all good boys and girls and listened to the Mommins after that. The park was amazing there was green grass, blue skies and tons of other doggie pals to sniff. We went running up and down the hills with the Mommins just managing to keep up behind us, there were vineyards and mountains in the background which made everything look very pretty.

We were to busy runnin' around to stop for pictures!

Mommins Rachel with the 4 of us

Mommins Samantha posing, us pups were in the picture but something more interesting must have caught our attention, haha

After we were all tired out from our outing we got back in the car and headed for St.Helena. We slept in the back of the car while the Mommins' went shopping at the Culinary Institute. Then we headed for the Mommins favorite burger joint, Taylor's Automatic Refresher, I could smell it out of the window a mile away! Oh it smelled so good! They had a huge grass area so all of us pups could hang out by the Mommins while they ate. Mommins Rachel had a burger with bacon, onion rings and crumbles of bleu cheese with fries, Mommins Samantha had a burger with salsa, jalapenos and guacamole and garlic fries, phew boy did her breath smell then she tried to kiss me like a million times, I didn't mind though, I love my Mommins' so much! Of course because we were so good all day we got some fries to eat, what a fun day.

This is the grass area where we ate at Taylor's

We got home pretty early considering all that we did then the Mommins' friend Sally came over with her English Springer Spaniel, Molly. She is a really nice girl and I get along well with her, Lexie was a bit jealous I think but she got over it.

Stay tuned tomorrow for more stories about us 4 Springers and Molly, that makes 5!

Introducing Miss Isabella Blackberry Today On Daily Dog

Hello it's Brodie here and welcome to a new week Today On Daily Dog! Our "Name Game" has come to an end and we have decided on a truly special name for our Little Izzie girl. Thank you to everyone who made suggestions they were all great and some made us laugh too!

Introducing Miss Isabella Blackberry here with her edition of 'The Daily Dog'

So where did the name come from Lexie? Well the Mommins decided to start with "Miss" just like in my name since we are both little girls, then her full first name is Isabella but she goes by Izzie. Then Blackberry was chosen because when we first moved out here to California there were Blackberries in the backyard and she was eating them off of the bushes. The Mommins' didn't see her eat them and became alarmed when Izzie's poo was black, just before they rushed her to the vet she ran over and started eating the berries off the bushes again and they realized what she had been up to! That plus the fact she is Black in color it made sense to go with the name Blackberry. So there you have it, Miss Isabella Blackberry at your service!

What do you think Montie? I think it's perfect, I think we all have perfect names... well except Brodie but thats another story! Oh do tell us Montie. Well The Mommins' didn't actually name Brodie, his papers were stolen when he was just a pup and so was he, it was quite traumatic by all accounts! Anyway of course Mommins Samantha went crazy and got him back. So it remains Brodie Gunner but I heard the Mommins say she actually wanted to use the names Brodie and Gunner in his name but wanted to add a third part to make it sound better like mine, hehe.

Whatever guys my first name kicks butt! Everyone comments about how cool of a name Brodie is! So all that is left for this edition of Today On Daily Dog is to get Izzie's reaction to her new name.

Hi everyone, I just love my name, I think it fits me to a tee. However one of the other suggestions was Isabella Frecklenose Sassypants which would also have worked for me, thanks Erin!

That's all from us Today On Daily Dog, watch out for tomorrows edition, we will have stories from our weekend outing to Napa and St. Helena!

Good Night!

Friends and Family Today On Daily Dog

Hey guys this is Brodie here Today On Daily Dog, Montie was supposed to post on the blog yesterday but he fell asleep on the ottoman... as usual! Today I wanted to give a shout out to some of our doggies friends and post a few pictures of them here on the blog.

Firstly is Kevik, he is an old friend from Purdue, well he is actually from Michigan originally. Kevik is a big Chocolate Labrador, not sure why they call Labradors chocolate and us Springers liver 'cos we look like the same color to me.

This is a picture of Lexie, when she was just 3 months old giving Kevik a kiss, also you can see my freckles in the background! Lexie LOVED Kevik and I have to keep this post quiet 'cos if she sees it she might get upset since Kevik lives at Purdue still. I did hear the Mommins' trying to Persuade Kevik's Mommins Kalie to move out here with us though. Lexie would love that!

Our other buddy that used to live with Kevik is Reggie, he is a pretty handsome guy. Hey even though I'm a guy I can still say that about another guy... come on! Anyway he is a big Bernese Mountain dog and took a while to grow into his legs when he was a pup but now he looks huge!

This is Reggie and Kevik having fun in the water.

I'm not too sure what Mo is doing here but he has got Kevik and Reggie spooked for sure! That Mo is a crazy guy sometimes, haha

Then there is our Uncle Barney, we keep in touch online since he lives in Scotland with Granny Hunt. Barney is a Black Labrador and he's got a few years on him I think he is 13 now, but he sure knows how to have fun!

Here is a picture of Barney and Granny Hunt, I am sooooooooooo excited for all the cuddles I'm going to get at Christmas time from her when she visits us for 2 whole weeks! Plus we always get tons of presents! Woo hoo

Okay that's all from me today, bye for now...I couldn't resist putting up a picture, see I was a cute baby!

The iPhone Bandit Today On Daily Dog

Hi this is Lexie here and welcome to Today on Daily Dog.

We have some breaking news, Mommins Rachel's iPhone was stolen last night while she was inside Bank of America. As she was depositing money, she turned her back for a few seconds and 'poof', her iPhone disappeared. She has already filed a police report but it takes 5 days to process, so she's quickly losing hope. If you have any information please contact Today on Daily Dog and help us continue our search for 'The iPhone Bandit.'

This is Brodie cuddling with Mommins Rachel, we are all trying to cheer her up!

Lets kick it over to Montie who has the highlights of the day. Montie....

Thanks Squeak. Today wasn't too eventful. We slept in as usual and waited for Mommins Rachel to come home from work. Then we ran errands with her, all while sticking our noses out the window to smell the bay breeze. This sent Izzie and Brodie into a frenzy. Once they smell the scents coming off the water they go berserk. Luckily after the store Mommins took us to our secret dog park on Mare Island. It's a secret because it's an abandoned military base and no other dogs or people go there! How do you feel about all the burrs we get from playing in the long grass there Izzie?

I don't really notice them because I can't stop bouncing around the fields! Also, my hair is so fine that they don't stick in for long. Brodie has tons of burrs though. Don't you Brodie?!

Yes, Yes. My ears were covered in long twigs with little sticky burrs on the end. They didn't hurt but were annoying because they plastered my ears to each other. When we got home the Mommins' brushed all of us out and now were nice and soft again. After this we slept the rest of the day. In fact, I'm pretty sleepy so I'm going to go to sleep. This wraps up another edition of Today on Daily Dog! Thanks for tuning into the blog and see you tomorrow!

Bye from all of us at Today On Daily Dog.

The Couches Today On Daily Dog

Hello followers of the blog! Its Montie Man here with an update!

A few days ago I mentioned the Mommins' were getting new couches and that I had heard a rumor that us pups were not going to be allowed on them! Well we have been getting to grips with things, it's a little confusing since we used to be allowed on the old couches but now we are apparently not allowed on the new ones. I decided to work my boyish charm on the Mommins' and I think it's working, as you can see from the pictures...

The ottoman is my favorite

Brodie just loves to sleep!

Izzie acting innocent

Lexie is too busy with her bone to pose for pictures on the couch

Keep the names coming in for Izzie byeee!

News Flash Today On Daily Dog

Hello, this is Mommins Samantha here with a news flash. The Pups don't post on weekends but I happened to make a grisly discovery in the yard this afternoon and thought a posting of it would be appropriate.

Apparently Izzie has been terrorizing my shoes, socks and any other pieces of clothing that is available for her 'relocation program' as Mommins Rachel affectionately calls it. Well today I hit the jackpot. Whilst minding my own business in the yard I happened to see what looked like a flip flop so I thought "aww little Izzie has been playing", then as I get closer I see it is much more than that. There are approximately 6 shoes, the removable hood from my nice feather down gap vest, 2 socks an a whole host of other things that should not be in the muddy underbrush of the yard! I have photographic evidence...

Of course Izzie was not punished since all good dog owners know that in order to correctly discipline your dog you have to catch them in the act of the bad behaviour otherwise they have no idea why they are in trouble. So instead I picked up the items and had a chuckle to myself! What else can you do?

Hope you enjoyed my news flash and keep the suggestions for Izzie's name coming!

Name Game Today On Daily Dog

Hi Everybody, It's Izzie Bizzie here!

Today I have a challenge for you, as you may or may not have noticed I don't have my akc name yet. For those who are unaware, my akc name is the official name that goes on my registration papers so that if I entered a show or had babies people would know me by my 'official' name which is on the akc papers.

The Mommins' have been having a difficult time deciding what my official name should be so together we have decided to put it out there for our friends here on Daily Dog to help us with. We want you to get your thinking caps on and submit your answers to me here Today On Daily Dog or to either of the Mommins' through Facebook.

Some suggestions to include in there name are well of course my name, Izzie or full name Isabella. My Daddy's name, Gunner or My Mommy's name Nittany. Other things are that I am Black in color so that could be incorporated somewhere and I have cute little ticking on my beak and legs. Those of you who know me well should be able to figure something out that goes with my awesome personality those of you who don't I still want your suggestions.

I'm totally serious we will really use the best one to name me since there is only a limited amount of time the akc gives us to name me so get your best suggestions to us A.S.A.P. We will wait 2 weeks before deciding!

I can't wait to hear all the fun names you come up with, see ya later!

A Formal Introduction Today On Daily Dog

We thought we would give you a more formal introduction of us four and some information about our background so here goes.

Brodie akc name Brodie Gunner is a handsome liver and white, bench bred little boy. He is from Nappanee, Indiana and came to Mommins Samantha when he was 3 months old. He will be 3 on January 21st.

Lexie akc name Miss Lexington Starr is a pretty liver and white girl, she is from Chicago, Illinois and was taken home when she was just 8 weeks old. She is field/bench bred but acts more like a field springer. She just turned 2 on October 2nd.

Montie akc name Montgomery of Anderson is a cute white, liver and tan man, he was rescued from a breeder in Anderson, Indiana when he was 4 months old. He is bench/field bred but acts more like a bench springer, his 2nd birthday will be April 6th.

Izzie akc name ??? is a black and white beauty with lots of ticking on her legs and nose. She was picked out when she was just 1 1/2 weeks old and went home as soon as she was old enough. She is from Elkhart Indiana and is bench bred having the same dad as Brodie. She is just a puppy, her first birthday will be April 19th.

All of us are akc registered/registerable English Springer Spaniels.

Getting Big Today On Daily Dog

It's Izzie Bizzie here on Daily Dog and I'm feeling good! The Mommins' say I am getting to be a big girl! I am pretty much the same height as Brodie now, even tho he says I'm not and I am definitely the same height as Lexie which makes her really mad, haha! Montie is still taller than me but I can still win at wrestling with him!

This is me hanging out in the Mommins' bed

I have graduated to my big girl collar and my brothers and sister say that's kind of a big deal so I strut my stuff with the best of them at the dog park and love it! I have a lot of fun there and I'm so popular, all the guys like to check me out but I'm not really into them, most of them look like dirty old men!

Look how long and pretty my legs are, don't you love my puffy pants!

In other news Montie and I had so much fun digging holes in the yard the other day, it had been raining so we got nice and muddy! Then I spotted Mommins Samantha's socks and pajama pants so I grabbed them and paraded around the muddy yard, OMG it was so much fun. Montie then tackled me and we ended up wrestling with the socks and pajama's, I realized they were kinda dirty so I hid them in the bushes along with Mommins Samantha's chewed up Crocs... hope she doesn't find them any time soon hehe!

Well that's all I've got today on Daily Dog but in the words of Greg and Fernando, the Mommins favorite morning radio DJ's... if they're playing with balls I'm all over it!

Just a Quckie Today On Daily Dog

Hi, it's Montie Man here with a quickie on Daily Dog!

We have had a pretty low key day today and yesterday, however I did manage to dig a nice hole in the back yard, not sure if the Mommins' have seen it yet but when they do I know they will be very proud!

In other news I heard Mommins Rachel talking on the phone, something about ordering a nice new couch for us dogs to sleep on during the day while the Mommins' are at work, they are so nice and think of every possible way to make us comfortable while they're gone. Stay tuned for pictures of it coming soon, I think it arrives tomorrow... wait did I just hear her say keep the dogs off the couch? What? Ok folks I gotta go get to the bottom of this, see ya'll tomorrow, byeeeee

This is me chillin' in the kitchen.

Today On Daily Dog, Week 2!

Hello, this is Lexie and welcome to our second week of Daily Dog, thank you to everyone who came to our blog last week you have helped make it a huge success!

This is me playing with my Frisbee at the dog park!

This weekend was just as predicted, fun and restful! On Saturday we lazed around ALL day with the Mommins' while they watched movies, it was so much fun because we got constant cuddles all day plus I got to cozy up to Mommins Rachel under the covers, that's my favorite place to be. Then just before it got dark, which is pretty early at around 5.30 since the clocks changed, Mommins Samantha took us to a new place she heard about. It was an abandoned baseball field, well actually 3 baseball fields together in the middle of nowhere and we ran around like crazy in the long grass until it got too dark. I got to play Frisbee too! Then we went home and cuddled up again and watched more movies, what a perfect day, I heard the Mommins' saying they had a perfect day too but I think the icky dark red stuff they were drinking might have had something to do with it. Brodie seemed to be trying to drink it too, I have no idea why it smells gross to me!

Sunday we got up early and went to socialize at the dog park, I of course demanded we play Frisbee, I just can't help myself sometimes! We all had fun running around except Brodie who spent most of his time rolling around as usual. I only like to roll around if there is something awesome to roll in like poo or dead animals, those are my favorite... Umm nevermind that, where was I, Oh yes so after we had fun at the dog part we took a trip to Wal Mart to get more chicken for us, yummy! Then off home to watch the Mommins' clean all day, it was exhausting just watching them, he house sure looks nice though! Later Sunday evening the Mommins' went to pick up a coffee table they found for sale on the internet. Mommins Rachel is so obsessed with it she sat and looked at it all night, I better make sure no one decides to nibble on it or she will be really mad!

Here are some pictures of us enjoying the dog park yesterday

Got That Friday Feeling Today On Daily Dog!

Hi folks, it's Brodie here!

We here at Daily Dog have sure got that Friday feeling! Its been an emotional week with the election and we are ready for a fun and restful weekend with the Mommins'! I'm not sure what the weather will have in store for us though, Montie, any ideas?

(Monite all wet after playing in the Lake)

Sure B-man, well it is supposed to rain on Saturday with a high of 65 degrees but Sunday should be nice, maybe we can talk the Mommins' into a trip to lake!

Yes Montie, Lake Herman is only a short drive from our home and is sooooo much fun, that sounds like a great idea! We recently took a trip there as a pack and had a ball!

Here is a picture of us all playing in the Lake

Well I for one want to make sure I get plenty napping done this weekend and I for sure know how to do that!

Introducing Izzie! Today on Daily Dog

Hello my name is Izzie but I usually go by Izzie Bizzie, the Mommins' say it's because I'm always busy doing something (usually up to mischief!). I will be 7 months old soon and I'm getting pretty big, the last weigh in at the vet was two days ago and I was 39lbs! The Mommins' couldn't believe it they said I must take after my big brother Brodie, I'm not too sure what they mean by that though.

I have had so much fun this summer, I was just 4 months old when I did the very long car ride from Indiana to California. I slept most of the time, when I wasn't sleeping I was annoying Montie (it's so much fun to bite Montie hehe). The Mommins' both said I was a very good girl during the road trip and gave me cuddles ALL the time, plus I got to sit on their knee since I was little, when they weren't driving of course.

This is me with a rawhide chew is the area the Mommins' made for us in the back of the car during the road trip, they called it 'dog world'

This is me wearing Mommins' Samantha's sunglasses on the road trip, I think I look pretty cool!

I am starting to get excited now that fall is here, as Montie mentioned the leaves are falling and it is getting cooler. I am so excited to go up North and play in the snow! Then before you know it Christmas will be here, this will be my first Christmas. I am so excited for all the presents my older siblings have told me about and I get to meet Granny Susan and Grandad Ed, Mommins Samantha told me they will love me as soon as they meet me!

Well I am going to make this short since I have had a little cough recently, don't worry though, I'm doing ok, in fact the Mommins' say you wouldn't know there is anything wrong with me the way I run around the house. The vet said I am in great shape but I have to take nasty syrup which Mommins Rachel says turns me into a wild animal. As soon as she tries to give it to me I do anything I can to get away from her because I don't want to take it, hehe. Plus to make matters worse I had special doggie cleansing and drying solution put into my ears last night. The others did too, Lexie hates it the most, she tried to make herself invisible but it didn't work haha. The Mommins' say we have to have it because Springers have long ears and they can get infections which can make us deaf! So I guess I will deal with 'cos I don't want that!

Thanks for reading my very first post, there will be more from me soon! Mwa xoxox

Weather Dog Today On Daily Dog

Hello out there, this is Montie and I'm so excited for my first post on the blog now that Lexie finally got her two out of the way! I wanted to talk a little bit about the weather out here in Northern California. Since we moved here in August we have had glorious sunshine everyday. October was my favorite month of all, the weather was perfect, no wind or rain! We had so much fun playing outside and swimming in the bay and lakes around here.

This is me, Montie!

The past week however, I have noticed a change. The temperature has dropped and the leaves are falling, fall is well and truly here! We are looking forward to fun playing in the leaves and cozying up with the Mommins' in the evening.

The word I'm hearing is that there is no snow during the winter out here in California, well at least where we are. Myself, Brodie and Lexie are pretty sad about that, Izzie has never actually seen snow but I told her now much fun it is and she is desperate to see some. So I decided to talk to the Mommins' about it and they have said if we are good we can take a trip to a place called Lake Tahoe, we went swimming there in the summer , it was an awesome trip. Mommins Samantha said it isn't too far from where we live and there is apparently LOTS of snow! I am soooooo excited I promised to be a good boy all winter long, only problem is I have to try to make Izzie do the same thing (easier said than done).

This is me playing in the Indiana snow last winter, it was my first experience in snow, but now I can play in it like a pro!

Election Results Today On Daily Dog

Hello, this is Lexie comin' at you with the election results from yesterday's historical election! We here at Daily Dog have mixed emotions about the results.

Firstly we would like to congratulate President elect Senator Barack Obama! W00f W00f! We here at Daily Dog were big supporters of his campaign and couldn't be happier.

Unfortunately we are completely devastated by the results of Proposition 8 here in California. It looks like the Mormon and Evangelical Christian's campaign of hatred towards anyone different to themselves pipped us at the post. Unofficially we lost with the results 52% yes on 8, 48% no. We don't yet know what will happen to the Mommins' marriage but we want them to know that it doesn't matter to us, we are a family and no one can take it away from us!

That's all from me today, this is Lexie signing off, look out for Monite's post coming up.

Election Day On Daily Dog

Hi, this is Lexie on today's edition of Daily Dog. I'm the sassy one (hehe). I just wanted to talk a little about the very important election today. Of course being dogs we cannot vote, but neither can Mommins Samantha because she isn't from the U.S.A. I don't really understand it fully but that is what she told me. So since 5 of us in the household cannot vote I wanted to put the word out on cyberspace of how we feel.

This is me dressed for 4th of July celebrations, I thought this picture would be appropriate for election day!

We want BARACK OBAMA! Also and most importantly for our family is NO ON 8, NO ON HATE! We want to be a family with rights just like everyone else.

See I told you I was sassy!

Today On Daily Dog!

Welcome to the first addition of Daily Dog! My Name is Brodie and I am the oldest out of the 4 of us Springers (as I'm sure you already know). The Mommins' and I have been planning on doing this for quite some time to fill everyone in on the fun antics we have!

This is me, Brodie!

We have well and truly settled into life here on the West Coast. The Mommins was very particular about finding the perfect place for us and said we were her number 1 priority. She didn't disappoint, we have a fun fenced yard to play in but I prefer to hang out in the house and there are lots of windows to look out of too. Montie and Izzie like to wrestle in the yard which suits me since I like to sleep inside with peace and quiet. Lexie likes to look for sticks in the yard, hoping that some sucker will get roped into throwing them all day for her, she usually succeeds especially when unsuspecting guests come over.

Here are some pictures of our yard

Most Days are pretty relaxing, we wake up very early around 4.45am when Mommins Rachel gets up for work. We go outside and then eat breakfast, chicken thighs are my favorite! Then we go wake up Mommins Samantha around 5.30am and we hang out while she gets ready for work, well actually Izzie and Montie usually go nuts and wrestle all morning! Then at 6.10am she opens the blinds of the big front window so we can look outside, puts the radio on and leaves for work. She had to start putting Izzie in a crate because she was destroying anything she could get her little mouth on and occasionally going to the bathroom on the speakers of the stereo too! It wasn't fair because the rest of us were getting into trouble too for no reason so I'm happy she is contained for the time being but I heard the Mommins' saying it was only for a month or so and then they would let her out on a trial basis so we will see how it goes!

Lexie, Montie and myself pretty much sleep on comfy dog beds and the couch while Izzie sleeps in the huge crate until Mommins Rachel comes home at 1pm then its off for a long walk and then running errands, taking a nap and generally hanging out with her until 5pm when it is dinner time. It is either more chicken or a few times a week we have veggies (ewwww) they taste OK but the Mommins' say we need then for a balanced diet whatever that means. I don't mind it too much and neither does Lexie or Izzie (I'm pretty sure Izzie will eat anything) but Montie gets in a really bad mood when it's veggies and point blank refuses to go near the bowl never mind eat it, it works out well for me though since I usually steal a few mouthfuls from his bowl before getting caught!

At 6.30pm Mommins Samantha comes home from work, this is one of my favorite times because she is always so happy to see us and we get cuddles and kisses all evening! Then we all happily relax with her before another walk or trip to the dog park to see some friends (and some idiots too). At the end of the day we all snuggle together watch TV and then when Mommins Rachel says "Bedtime Bonzo" we all go rushing into the bedroom to get the best positions on the bed or dog bed, I personally have my position claimed pretty much permanently at the foot of Mommins Samantha, Lexie is either on the dog bed sprawled out or curled up under the covers by Mommins Rachel, Montie likes the floor for some reason and has his favorite spot on Mommins Samantha's side with his head under the chest of drawers. Izzie floats around, she likes to steal my spot sometimes or be on the bed somewhere but occasionally she will curl up in the dog bed too. Then in the morning our day starts all over again, we like our week day routine but at the weekend things are more unpredictable which I'm fine with because usually there is some fun in store for us!

This is Brodie signing off!
